    I host a conference every six months in Chicago to bring people together who are involved in this work. The next is June 14 at First Unitarian Church in Hyde Park.   9. Danie: Updating all the listings in the www.tutormentorprogramlocator.org database . More than 200 programs to contact. Info shows on maps, making it easy to see where tutor/mentor programs are located, and where more are needed.

I encourage you to host a workshop/panel to bring together folks from Community Collab to talk about ways on-line networking can help each organization in its own mission.     I'm looking for one or two other interns or volunteers who might want to work with us on this. In return you can learn how to use the software and map some of your own network-building efforts.

  22. Danie: I've been encouraging people to vote for Cabrini Connections and 19 other non profits in the Chase giving program on Facebook. http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/charities/1184283?src=embed

    We use maps to show all of the poverty areas of Chicago where tutor/mentor programs are needed, so that donors and policy makers will look for new ways to generate and spread revenue to all of the programs in these areas. See the program locator at http://www.tutormentorprogramlocator.net.

    The focus is on the Conference being held on Nov. 19 and 20 and ways we can all use our social networks to mobilize volunteers and donors to support the many different non profits operating volunteer-based tutoring and/or mentoring programs.

Thus, I'm excited that Valdis Krebs, http://orgnet.com , will talk about SNA on Nov. 20 at the Tutor/Mentor Leadership and Networking Conference, at Northwestern University. If we can help people map their networks and use them to build support for their organizations, we are a step closer to many organizations doing similar work, in the same city, or in many cities.
